Start here if you're in sales
You can connect your sales tools to Claude or ChatGPT in a few clicks, and then ask questions about your accounts, deals and prospects in plain English. No terminal, no code.
What an MCP server is
An MCP server is a connector that a software company publishes so AI assistants can use its product. When you connect, say, your CRM's MCP server to Claude or ChatGPT, the assistant can look things up in it and, if you allow it, make changes for you. This site lists only the official servers that vendors publish themselves.
What connecting looks like
Each tool page has the exact steps and server URL. The general shape is the same everywhere:
In Claude
- Open Customize → Connectors. If the tool is in the directory, connect it there. Otherwise click + Add → Add custom connector and paste the server URL from its tool page.
- Click Connect and sign in to the tool with your normal login.
- In a chat, use the + button → Connectors to turn it on for that conversation.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector for the organization first.
Steps from the Claude Help Center: support.claude.com, checked 2026-10-16In ChatGPT
- Go to chatgpt.com/plugins. If the tool has its own plugin, install it. Otherwise select + → Add custom MCP server and paste the server URL.
- Sign in, read the warning, and select Create as a plugin.
- In a new chat, type @ and pick the tool.
Custom servers depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. If you don't see the option, ask your workspace admin.

Stay safe: start read-only, approve every write
- Start with questions, not changes. Ask for summaries and tables first, and add "don't change anything" to your prompt. Each tool page says what that tool can change. You can also filter for read-only tools.
- Read every approval request. When Claude wants to use a connector's tool, it shows an approval request. Read what it's about to do, and only choose "Allow always" for a tool you trust to run unsupervised.
- Turn off what you don't need. Switch off tools that aren't relevant to the conversation, especially ones that send email or edit records. In Claude's Research mode, tools can run without asking each time, so disable write tools before you use it.
- Check what you're granting. When you sign in, review the permissions the connector asks for, and deny anything that seems unnecessary.
- Test small. Try one record or one draft before asking for fifty. Watch for tools that spend credits; each tool page says which ones do.
Three five-minute first prompts
Each one only reads data. Paste it into a chat once the tool is connected.
-
1. Summarize my open deals closing this month
Summarize my open deals closing this month. Group them by stage, show the amount and next step, and flag any with no activity in 14 days. Don't change anything.
Needs a CRM, for example Attio, HubSpot. Read only: it doesn't change anything.
-
2. Brief me on the company I meet next
Find the company for my next meeting in the CRM, then look up its news from the last 30 days and cite sources. Write a one-page brief with three questions to ask. Don't log anything.
Needs a CRM plus a research tool, for example Attio, Crunchbase, HubSpot, Perplexity. Read only: it doesn't change anything.
-
3. Find five people like my best customer's champion
Our best champion is a VP of RevOps at a 200-person B2B SaaS company. Find five people with a similar title at similar companies. Show me a table only. Don't save or enrich anything yet.
Needs a prospecting tool, for example Apollo, Lusha, Prospeo, Wiza. Read only: it doesn't change anything.
Find your role
- MCP for SDRs: Research accounts, find the right people, and draft first touches without switching between five tabs.
- MCP for account executives: Walk into every meeting briefed, and keep deals moving without living in the CRM.
- MCP for customer success: Prepare for check-ins and renewals with account history and notes in one place.
- MCP for sales leaders: Get the pipeline facts before the meeting, not during it.
- MCP for RevOps: Clean data, enrich records, and automate the routine reports, with an approval step before anything is written.
- MCP for marketing teams: Turn forms, pages and creative into work you can do from one chat.
